MasterChef is a cooking competition rife with culinary and human drama – testing budding amateur chefs to the limit with a series of tough challenges judged by experts in the industry. We were asked to create “the sound” of MasterChef Australia back in 2009 – the first international version of the show.
We used a traditional orchestra combined with the fringes of commercial pop to make the music interesting and reflect the exploratory and innovative nature of the show. Always evolving over the years, we have incorporated contemporary music like future bass and hip hop elements to show the diversity of flavours and try to give a sense of what we thought MasterChef was about – pushing the boundaries of food to make incredible creations. We have composed music for almost every other international version of MasterChef, including the US version.
